INDIVIDUALIZED RESEARCH PORTFOLIO ASSESSMENT
CBI staff will review a companys research portfolio, identifying opportunities to accelerate product development through appropriate application of biomarkers in imaging.
Identifying pre-clinical and clinical settings that may benefit from the appropriate application of imaging biomarkers is the initial step in realizing the promise of biomarkers in imaging. Though conceptually straightforward, such identification requires current, thorough knowledge of imaging biomarkers, including their strengths and limitations.
Drawing on expert radiologists and researchers from the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Radiology, CBI staff will meet with an organizations senior research leadership to conduct a complete review of the organizations research and development portfolio. Projects that may benefit from appropriate application of biomarkers in imaging will be identified, and a realistic opinion of the benefits and costs of incorporating imaging biomarkers rendered. Conducted with the appropriate confidentiality protections in place, CBI will provide a portfolio review document as a final work product, outlining the results of the review and the expert panels suggestions.
While a portfolio review may be conducted as an independent exercise, at an organizations discretion, it may also be linked to other Center services, including:
