PARTNERSHIPS

Ultimately, the purpose of any drug development efforts or therapy assessment research is to benefit the patients. By explicitly inviting patients and patient groups to participate in the Center for Biomarkers in Imaging (CBI), we have forged mutually beneficial relationships. Patients provide unique insights into the effect and treatment of a disease, as well as the conduct of clinical trials. Furthermore, caregivers – both family members and allied healthcare professions – need a forum in which to voice concerns and raise awareness for specific under-funded diseases. As much as we care about the science of imaging biomarkers, we are also acutely aware of the potential ethical issues associated with their use, and patients are an important voice in any ethical considerations. Lastly, patient advocacy groups frequently maintain regional patient lists – lists that are important for disseminating information about new therapies, and for recruitment of patients for clinical trials.

SERVICES

CBI currently does not offer services directly to patients. We contemplate creating educational material that may be of value to patients with specific diseases, so please check us again in the near future.
